It is an authentic “reproduction” as Wedgwood’s own the rights to Clarice Cliff designs and shapes.

A Wedgwood Clarice Cliff Vase Solitude Pattern. Handcrafted and and hand painted. Produced by the skilled workers employed by Josiah Wedgwood & Sons Ltd. At their factory based in Barlaston, Stoke on Trent.

It is a reproduction of a design by Clarice Cliff. Originally produced between 1931 – 1933.

A hand painted art deco style design. Depicting a stylised bridge and tree landscape between yellow and green bands. Produced on a “Meiping” shaped vase.

A very rare piece of Wedgwood Clarice Cliff pottery. Not often seen on the secondary market.

Making it an great gift idea for any occasion. Particularly for the collectors of hand painted art pottery produced in Stoke on Trent. As well as Clarice Cliff collectors.

Josiah Wedgwood & Sons Ltd – Clarice Cliff.

Wedgwoods now owns all the rights to the Clarice Cliff name and her designs. After acquiring W R Minter Ltd in 1970. Who produced the first range of official reproductions of Clarice Cliff. Due to them acquiring A J Wilkinson Ltd in 1964. Who owned Newport Pottery. Which is where Clarice Cliff worked and developed her well known style of designs.

To avoid any confusion that the items were reproductions. Midwinters marked their items “Royal Staffordshire Pottery by Clarice Cliff.

Originally items produced by Wedgwood were hand painted. But later designs were printed decals.
